Debt free... the way to be!

We've been on a journey to be debt free since end of 2009... we followed Dave Ramsey (Normal is broke... be weird) and his teaching. Started by creating our "emergency fund" and once that was done, we were off... our credit cards are now at 0.00, as of this month! Yee-haw!!! Next item is my van!

This process hasn't been easy.... it has been hard not living like the Jones' ,well at first it was... but after you get over that hump, you realize you can't put a price on financial freedom. We've even been teaching the kids about couping and having them put their own money in their bank account. Half birthday money went to bank, half went to Target! Next is 529 plans.

visit Dave's website and begin your debt snowball: www.daveramsey.com.

Praying for financial freedom for you and yours!

Weight Loss

So, I've been on my weight loss journey since I gave birth to Conner in January of 2006... I know, I know... after 5 years you would think that I've lost the "baby weight", well...not so much. I actually weigh not to much less than when I had him. I have tried everything from 192.00 worth of stuff at Complete Nutrition, Weight Watchers, not eating, you name it, I've tried it!

Well... I got a book called "Made to Crave", after my good friend Lisa said to check out Lysa TerKeurst webcast that she hosts on Monday (visit: http://www.madetocrave.org/). Then, this last weekend for girls night, we went to Compel in South Sioux City to see her speak. I left encouraged and wanting to seek a deeper relationship with God and by giving up junk food, I could accomplish this... 6 days without junk... I feel just that, closer to God!

My new bible verse to live by (Romans 14:23): but if people have doubts about whether they should eat something, they shouldn't eat it. They would be condemned for not acting in faith before God. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

It's good to know I'm not alone in my weight loss battle.
